Our Story

It all began with a humble fascination of our flying friends and how we needed their help to improve our backyard veggie patch.

So after a really disappointing season (or two) of no edible veggies, but a tonne of hard work something had to be done. As a family we dove right in, learning as much as we could about bees and in particular how to attract these productive workers to our patch of earth. It was surprisingly hard at first but that hadn’t stop us before and certainly didn’t stop us this time.

Encouraged by a lucky opportunity we stepped things up, taking things into our own hands we added a first beehive to our backyard. A season later came a second and then a third and a fourth.

Luckily for us though the passion of sharing this excitement and love of bees was matched by our friends interests. This found us other locations to host our hives and helped us continue to expand our apiary.

We now have hives dotted all over the Hunter Valley and are always looking for new places to explore. Our hives and collaborations have us visiting not only our own apiary sites but schools, families and businesses. As time shows whenever we meet a new friend who shares our interest of bees magic things start to happen.

Oh and the veggie patch…well, it’s now going strong too:)
